Thanks to all who have served and are serving. Veterans Day is our honor and remember day. Regardless of when you served or what your job was, you served and we are all brothers in arms.

For all those who participated in the parade Saturday here in Sedalia, I say Thanks! Special thanks also goes out to Preston Olson, who brought his ambulance and choo-choo all the way from South Dakota; our Grand Chef, Ed Jones; Wentworth Military Academy under the direction of Voyageur Gary Willis of V333; Smith-Cotton JROTC under the direction of Lt. Col. Harry Cunningham and CSM Randall Woods; the Sedalia Police and Fire departments; the Pettis County Sheriffs Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Thanks also to Mayor Elaine Horn and the City Council members; VFW Color Guard under direction of Larry Stevenson; Boy Scouts; DAR; Trails End committee; Smith-Cotton Junior High and High School bands, Salvation Army and its canteen; and the women of the VFW who served great chili and vegetable beef soup. Thanks to all those who watched from curbside.

I understand that Saturdays was one of the largest parades in Sedalias history, with a total of 52 units. We may not be Branson or New York, but we are greater!

A very special thanks to SFC Adam McQuiston from Fort Leonard Wood, who served as our parade grand marshal.

Last but not least, the voyageurs and dames who helped on every turn from driving to walking and every other detail.

Happy Veterans Day!
