Education is an important factor in the development and maturation of a person. Although some go through high school with little interest in their education and future, I will always have fond memories of my Catholic education. Although I did not attend Sacred Heart High School for my entire academic career, the last year two years have given me opportunities to succeed in areas which otherwise might not have been available to me.

From the first day I attended Sacred Heart High School, I was welcomed and treated as a long-term friend by my peers. Although my Catholic education may expose me to a smaller group of people, I quickly became friends with new students while continuing to build enduring relationships with my current friends. My Catholic education has brought me closer to others and will continue to help me better interact with people. In the future I will strive to make new friends and support them as I have been supported for the last two years.

Academically, I have been given a wide variety of classes to choose from and the opportunity to succeed. My instructors are passionate about the subjects they teach. They continue to find new and encouraging ways to conduct their classes. The instructors are greatly interested in students’ development both, academically and spiritually, always being available to talk when trouble arises and eagerly offering advice or support.

There is no better time than during Catholic Schools Week to thank the community for their support and prayers for Catholic schools, especially Sedalia’s own Sacred Heart School. Without the involvement and interest of the community, our school would most certainly not be what it is today. On behalf of all of the students and faculty of Sacred Heart School, allow me to express our appreciation for your dedication and contribution to Catholic education in Sedalia. Please join us this week in celebrating Catholic Schools Week!
