No chapel? God is still present

Posted: Friday, December 23, 2011 12:00 am | Updated: 11:35 am, Wed Sep 5, 2012.

God is ever present. He knows no walls, rooms or buildings and hears our prayers even if they are never uttered. This makes me think of Matthew 6:6, “But you, when you pray, enter into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret shall reward you openly.”

As the full-time chaplain on staff at Bothwell Regional Health Center, when I pray with the sick at the hospital or the terminally ill in their homes, I know God is there. He is there also when I meet with families who are grieving a loss, regardless of location.
