In response to the letter by Carl B. Foster (“Someone must stand up to gun lobbyists,” Dec. 22):
I fully support the right of Americans to bear arms. I have guns in my home — none considered military-style assault weapons. They are kept out of sight, unloaded, with the ammunition in a different location. Must we pass legislation to limit or halt the sale of some semi-automatic weapons? Should I be allowed to purchase a gun at a flea market, public auction or from a private sale? This is done on a daily basis.
