What is happening to our Supreme Court and its respect for our nation’s military award system?
I read with complete dismay and utter disbelief about the “Stolen Valor” ruling (“Court ruling proper on lies about service,” July 2). I am proud of the Silver Star awarded to me by Congress for combat action on Nov. 15, 1965, in the Ia Drang Valley, South Vietnam. That is the only additional military medal I am authorized to display above and beyond the normal service medals (National Defense, Vietnam Service, Good Conduct). Why anyone would even consider to pass himself or herself off as some sort of a military hero is unthinkable to me.
