Veterans grateful for passage of bill that provides funding

Posted: Tuesday, June 26, 2012 12:00 am | Updated: 11:56 am, Wed Sep 5, 2012.

Thank you for passing House Bill 1731, thus providing a dedicated source of funding for the Missouri Veterans Commission Capital Improvement Trust Fund. This legislation ensures that all seven of our state veterans homes and more than 1,300 veteran heroes will continue to receive outstanding health care into the future. The fund, were it not replenished, would have been depleted in July 2013, forcing closures — something unfathomable to those of us who feel incredibly fortunate to live here.

On behalf of the 200 veterans living here at the Warrensburg home, we would particularly like to commend Sen. David Pearce and Rep. Denny Hoskins for their unparalleled, unwavering support for this endeavor within the Senate and House of Representatives. These two gentlemen are longtime friends and supporters of our home and of veterans initiatives.
