Letter: Put lawmakers on minimum wage, see how they fare

Posted: Thursday, February 28, 2013 8:44 pm

In regard to the GOP opposing the increase in minimum wage from $7.25 to $9 like President Barack Obama wants (as he stated that in his State of the Union address), I have a solution.

All Republican members of the House and Senate who oppose it should lose their salary of $180,000 annually, plus their health care and all the other many benefits, and be put on minimum wage of $7.25 an hour for one year. I would bet that after one year on minimum wage and no health insurance, they would change their mind and vote for the increase.
