Allen Hawkins, of Sedalia, was one of more than 500 people who attended the Chosin Few Reunion of the Korean War Aug. 22-26 in San Antonio. At the opening ceremony, all branches of service were recognized including the Royal Marines.
Dr. Bae Suk Lee was a speaker and his wife, Miyong, sang the national anthem of South Korea. The meeting closed with a moment of silence for those who didn’t return home. Hawkins was wounded in action during the war.
