2 men hurt in Pettis County crash
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Two men were injured after their vehicles collided Friday at an intersection in Pettis County.
Brian E. Rayl, 18, of Green Ridge, was taken by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.
Kyle J. Jones, 28, of La Monte, was taken by ambulance to Bothwell Regional Health Center with moderate injuries.
The accident occurred at 1:45 p.m. as Rayl was eastbound on Jackson Road at Buckeye Road near La Monte. Rayl’s and Jones’ vehicles arrived at the intersection at the same time and Rayl’s vehicle failed to yield to Jones’ vehicle. The two vehicles collided and both traveled off the east side of Buckeye Road. Rayl’s vehicle stopped in a ditch and Jones’ vehicle stopped in a ditch on the vehicle’s left side, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
Rayl was not wearing a seat belt, the report states.
