Katy Trail Community Health presented the 2015 Employee of the Year Award to Michelle Quattlebaum, an employee in the dental department in Sedalia. The announcement was made at the annual meeting Thursday, April 21.
“Throughout this past year, our Employee of the Year has proven repeatedly that with positive encouragement you can empower your coworkers to strive for excellence,” a news release states. “This individual is a real leader among her peers, smiling in the face of challenges and working with integrity in achieving organizational goals.”
According to the release, Quattlebaum is known in her department as a “mother hen” and has taken each new employee that she works with under her wing, ensuring they feel welcome. She makes it her personal mission to train new employees until they are confident in their role within the team.
She has worked for Katy Trail Community Health since May 2009 and has earned both expanded function Dental Assisting and Expanded Function II Dental Assisting Certificate.
“She has a heart of gold, is a pleasure to work and things just aren’t quite the same when she isn’t there,” said Bethany Vandevender, Chief Dental Officer at Katy Trail Community Health. “We are pleased to award this year’s Employee of the Year title to Michelle Quattlebaum.”
Quattlebaum was recognized with a proclamation from the Missouri House of Representatives presented by state Rep. Nathan Beard and state Rep. David Wood.
