Thunderstorm Warning for Pettis County extended to 1 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Northwest Pettis County extended until 1 p.m. Wednesday including the La Monte, Hughesville, Houstonia, Dunksburg and Longwood areas.

The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southwestern Carroll County, Northwestern Pettis County, Lafayette County, Johnson County, Southwestern Saline County, Northeastern Cass County, Southern Ray County and Eastern Jackson County.

According to NWS, at 11:26 a.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Woods Heights to near Odessa to near Harrisonville moving east at 45 mph.

Hazards include up to 60 mph wind gusts and penny-size hail.

Locations impacted include Independence, Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs, Warrensburg, Grain Valley, Pleasant Hill, Oak Grove, Richmond, Odessa, Greenwood, Higginsville, Lexington, Buckner, Knob Noster, Concordia, Holden, Lake Lotawana, Lake Winnebago, Lone Jack and Waverly. This includes Interstate 70 in Missouri between mile markers 20 and 65.
