Four injured in Johnson
Four people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 6:50 a.m. Monday in Johnson County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Kimberlee R. Sweet, 41, of Osawatamie, Kansas, was driving west on U.S. Highway 50 at County Road NW 1801 when her vehicle overtook and struck the rear of another westbound vehicle driven by Steven B. Naumann, 27, of Holden.
Sweet, who sustained moderate injuries, and two passengers in her vehicle, Trevor Sweet, 9, and William White, 11, both of Osawatamie, Kansas, who both sustained minor injuries, were all taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to Research Medical Center in Kansas City.
Naumann was taken by JCAD to St. Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit with moderate injuries.
Reports indicate all four people were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
Teen hurt in Saline County
A Sweet Springs teenager sustained moderate injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 5:27 p.m. Monday in Saline County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Levi W. Johnson, 16, of Sahuarita, Arizona, was driving east on 150th Road, three-tenths of a mile east of state Route 127, when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned.
A passenger in his vehicle, Justin M. Sims, 16, was taken by Sweet Springs Ambulance District to I-70 Community Hospital for his injuries.
Reports indicate Johnson was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, but Sims was not.
