Sedalia man seriously injured in crash

A Sedalia man sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 3:02 p.m. Wednesday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Albert L. Willis, 39, was driving west on U.S. Highway 50, west of County Road NE 201, when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, crossed the median and continued westbound in the eastbound lanes. His then vehicle traveled back across the median into the westbound lanes.

His vehicle struck an embankment and overturned. Willis fled northbound from the scene and was taken into custody by Warrensburg Police Department officers a short time later.

Willis, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg for his injuries.
