Henry County man injured in accident

A Henry County man was injured Tuesday when he drove his vehicle into a water-filled creek, Missouri Highway Patrol reported.
Lewis E. Helwig, 88, of Appleton City, declined treatment after the accident on Route J, some 1.6 miles north of Missouri 52, the patrol reported.
The accident occurred about 3:15 p.m. when Helwig drove his vehicle off the right side of the road and into a creek, then struck an embankment. the patrol said.
