Frank and Helen Ellis will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary in June with family and friends.


They were married June 11, 1944, at the home of the Rev. Kokendoffer. Both are natives of Sedalia and graduates of Smith-Cotton High School. They remain active members of the Bethany Class at First Christian Church in Sedalia.


Mr. Ellis was enlisted in the U.S. Army and had been transferred to Camp Crowder from service to Quartermaster Corps operating on the Alcan Highway in frontier Alaska. He retired from the Missouri Pacific Railroad shops, in Sedalia, with 30 years of service. He also operated an HVAC and sheet metal business in the area. Mrs. Ellis worked at Montgomery Ward and JCPenney, then for 16 years at Flowers Department Store in Sedalia.


They have one son, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
