Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri member Alexandra Phillips, 10, takes a bag of food from Vicki Hart, club site manager at Sedalia Middle School, to donate to Open Door Benevolent Ministries. After receiving a grant, the students in the club decided to host a food drive for the Buddy Pack program, which provides a backpack full of food for students who need meal assistance. The club started collecting food at the beginning of April and on Monday donated 600 pounds of food. Open Door Executive Director Jack Menges said the donations will make between 700 and 800 Buddy Packs. For more information about Buddy Packs, call 827-1613.
