Sedalia Chamber to host electronics recycling event

Posted: Thursday, March 21, 2013 11:15 pm

There’s gold in those old electronic devices taking up space in your closet or basement. There is also lead, arsenic and a host of potentially dangerous toxins, but the Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce and the Center for Human Services have a solution.

The organizations have partnered with Kansas City-based Surplus Exchange, a nonprofit that is certified in recycling those old cathode ray tube televisions, computer monitors, cellphones, and other home electronics for an electronics recycling event set to run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Thompson Hills Shopping Center.
