With a potential for gloomy conditions this weekend, people planning on participating in the Sedalia Parks Department’s Snowball Hunt are encouraged to call the department’s hot line before heading out Saturday to ensure it is not canceled.
The hunt is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at Clover Dell Park. As long as the weather cooperates, the event will have an airplane drop more than 3,000 “snowballs” — Ping-Pong balls — in two passes over the soccer field at the park. Children, separated into groups by age, then race to collect them after all the balls are dropped, and certain marked balls can be redeemed for prizes.
