Lyne Plastics opens Sedalia facility

Posted: Friday, February 15, 2013 10:42 pm

Repurposing was on the minds of Lyman and Lesa Lyne on Friday as the couple were joined by community leaders at a ribbon cutting for the expansion of Lyne Plastics.

The firm, now in its 20th year, was originally launched in La Monte by Lyman, and his father, also named Lyman, in the family’s 1,200-square-foot barn in 1993 where the father and son ground and resold plastic baby wipe dispensers. The family moved into a 5,000-square-foot facility in La Monte a year later and have expanded their operation through the years to include two full-time employees — currently grinding and washing industrial plastic scrap to the tune of 1 million pounds each year.
