The second annual State Fair Idol competition will help close out the fair today as 14 finalists from around the state meet at 3 p.m. at the Budweiser Tent to sing their way into fair history. The winner of the competition, which began with more than 80 singers, wins a professionally produced demo CD, a trophy, and will perform before next year’s Thursday night opening concert on the Pepsi Grandstand stage.
