Two Sedalia residents face drug charges after police intercepted a shipment of marijuana, according to a report from the Sedalia Police Department.

The departmentís STING Unit received information Wednesday that a large amount of marijuana was going to be shipped from the state of California to Sedalia, according to the report. Investigators intercepted the shipment and found a package containing about 1.5 pounds of marijuana.

Police reported a detective disguised as an employee from a shipping company delivered the package to its destination address at 1510 Heck Ave. to determine where the shipment was going.

The STING Unit later served a search warrant at the address. In addition to a suspect arrested at the home, police found about 2.4 pounds of marijuana, drug packaging materials, a digital scale and more than $6,000 in cash, according to the police report.

The woman who accepted the package that was delivered had left the home before the warrant was executed, but she was later located at work and taken into custody, police reported.

The two suspects arrested, 26-year-old Adam P. Linn and 24-year-old Elizabeth M. Estes, both of Sedalia, were placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, according to the report.
