These five veterans are on a mission across the U.S.
Long Road Home Project
Colleen Bushnell, 39, is an Air Force veteran who served in Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. The former staff sergeant is cycling as an advocate for victims of sexual assault and to raise awareness of problems faced by singe-parent veterans and women in the military.
Long Road Home Project
Steve Taylor, 59, an Air Force retiree, is one of the five cyclists in the Long Road Home Project, a 90-day undertaking to bike across the country through 12 states and raise awareness about military veterans issues. Taylor is partially paralyzed and uses his arms to pedal his bike. The group passed through Sedalia Thursday after making a stop at Whiteman Air Force Base.
