Three Missouri residents died in a crash on Interstate 70 on Friday in Cooper County.

Judy K. Ritoch, 50, of Independence, was slowing down while driving westbound on the highway at mile marker 87 about 9:35 p.m. when she was struck by a Kenworth truck being driven by Dustin W. Wright, 30, of Noble, Ill., according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

After the accident, Ritochís vehicle caught fire. She died, as did two occupants in the vehicle, Eileen Ritoch, 77, of Sweet Springs, and David M. Ritoch, 49, of Independence.

All of the Ritoches were pronounced dead at the scene by Cooper County Coroner James Hurt. They were then taken to Davis Funeral Home in Boonville.

The report did not state any injuries for Wright.

All four of the people involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, according to the report.

This was the patrolís 51st, 52 and 53rd fatalities for Troop F in 2011.

Information is taken from preliminary Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved.
