District vows to improve special education programs

The Sedalia school district’s special education programs missed internal targets in a couple of key performance areas, but changes have been made and students and their parents still offered positive feedback in recent surveys.

The percentage of students with disabilities in grades 3 through 12 scoring in the “proficient” and “advanced” levels in communication arts and math on the Missouri Assessment Program exam decreased in 2010-11, the most recent year for which data is available.
