Marion Schmidt and Ruth Morrison were married on Feb. 9, 1940, at the home of the Rev. A.W. Kokendoffer in Sedalia. A friend of Marion’s who worked at the Sedalia Democrat invited the couple to stop by and he’d take their wedding picture. Though Ruth walked in with a hat on, the
photographer asked her to take it off. She wasn’t expecting to be sporting her big curls.
