Highway patrol reports July 4 weekend stats

The Missouri State Highway Patrols reported 10 people died in traffic crashes during the July Fourth holiday counting period, which ran from 6 p.m. Friday to 11:59 p.m. Monday.

Highway Patrol worked 259 crashes in which eight people died and 130 were injured. Troopers arrested 168 people for driving while intoxicated during this year’s holiday weekend, according to a news release. Also, the Kansas City Police Department investigated two fatalities.
