A Sedalia man turned himself in to the Pettis County Jail on a warrant stemming from a vehicle crash that happened after he had been drinking, according to court documents.
Christopher Lee Brown, 22, of the 1300 block of East Broadway Boulevard, turned himself into the jail Monday, according to Pettis County Sheriff’s Department reports. He was in the jail Tuesday in lieu of $10,000 bond.
Brown was charged Dec. 6 with three counts of second-degree assault and a count of leaving the scene of an accident.
Sedalia police officers arrested Brown Oct. 20 after a vehicle accident at East St. Louis Street and North Mill Avenue. Brown told officers he was driving between 40 and 50 mph down Mill Avenue before he wrecked the car near the railroad tracks, according to a probable cause statement written by Patrolman Coleman Bryan.
Three passengers in the car were taken by ambulance to Bothwell Regional Health Center. Brown ran away after the accident, but officers caught him near Buckner Court and North Saline Avenue, Bryan wrote.
Brown had a blood alcohol content that was more than twice the legal limit, according to the probable cause statement.
