Council told city staff project no sales tax growth for FY 2014

During its pre-meeting Tuesday the Sedalia City Council learned that city staff are projecting no sales tax growth for the upcoming Fiscal Year 2014, which starts April 1.

City Administrator Gary Edwards started the meeting with a review of all the projects completed during the last fiscal year, including approval a $7.2 million bond that will help fund repairs to the Washington Avenue bridge and Sedalia Public Library as well as build a new fire station, the sale of the downtown Trust building, new retail growth and Citizens for a Clean Sedalia Committee recommendations.
