If candy and flowers just won't do, the Smith-Cotton High School New Score and Cabaret Singers are offering to deliver singing valentines on Feb. 14 this year.

People who make reservations can get a command performance of one of 10 songs to their sweethearts.

The cost is $20 each, and proceeds benefit the Smith-Cotton Choral Society. Organizer Boni Lee said society members want to use the money to help the groups go out of state for a performance and contest.

To reserve a spot, people may mail $20 to the Smith-Cotton Choral Society, 2304 W. Broadway Blvd., No. 139, Sedalia, MO 65301.

Songs to choose from (name it ahead of time) include "I will Always Love You," "Still the One," "Forever and Always," "I Swear," "Faithfully," "Keeper of the Stars," "You Had Me From Hello," "I Cross My Heart," "I Will" and "Love Me Tender." Preferred times are from 3 to 4; 4 to 5; 5 to 6; or 6 to 7 p.m.

The deadline to reserve a valentine is Feb. 7.

More information is available by calling Lee at 826-6448.
