Pettis County residents will vote on president, Congress, the Missouri House of Representatives, the sheriff, the County Commission, the public administrator, two proposed state constitutional amendments and three statutory propositions today.
Polling stations open at 6 a.m., and everyone in line to vote by 7 p.m will have a chance to cast a ballot. More than 75 percent of eligible Pettis County voters are expected to turn out for the historic election.
Voters registered in Dresden, Flat Creek, Prairie and Sedalia East townships will cast their ballots at new polling stations in today’s election.
Dresden voters will now vote at Dresden School Annex at 22690 Depot Road, the former site of Dresden Baptist Church, instead of Dresden R-12 School.
The polling station for Flat Creek switched from Bethlehem Baptist Church to Advance Building Supply at 22850 Highway F.
Prairie voters can cast their ballots at Cornerstone Baptist Church, at 19856 Highway Y, rather than Prairie Ridge Golf Course.
The polling location for Sedalia East changed from Goodwill Chapel Church to Grace Baptist Church at 3304 S. Ingram Ave.
Pettis County Election Clerk Terrie Close said voters will not be allowed to display buttons, T-shirts, or slogans in support of a particular candidate while at polling precincts. State law prohibits electioneering within 25 feet of a polling station, she said.
“Anybody that comes in, we ask that they not wear them in the polling place,” Close said. “You can do whatever you want as long as it’s 25 feet away.”
Voters can check on their polling locations and registration status online at https://mcvr.mo.gov/voterlookup/.
