40 & 8 memorializes fallen Army Ranger
Joe and Toni Siercks, of Lincoln, the parents of 1st Sgt. Billy Siercks, the Army Ranger who died of his wounds the day after a September battle with Afghan insurgents, place a memorial brick in his honor Thursday at the Veteran Memorial Walk of Honor on the southeast side of the Pettis County Courthouse lawn. Offering a helping hand to Toni Siercks are from left, Jim Gaertner and Tony Gallagher, both with the 40 & 8 veterans organization.

The Billy Siercks memorial brick was sponsored by the Sedalia chapter of the 40 & 8, a national military service organization.
