Officers served a search warrant at a Sedalia home and collected more than an ounce of marijuana.

The two people who live there were not home at the time of the search about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, but they were arrested on a vehicle stop near the house, according to Sedalia Police Department reports.

Andre J. Willard, 32, and Angelica L. Lynch, 27, both 710 E. 18th St., were arrested. Lynch was released from Pettis County Jail on a $50,000 bond, and Willard remained in jail Friday in lieu of $50,000 bond.Willard and Lynch were each charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Officers saw Willard and Lynch drive up to the home during the search, according to a probable cause statement written by Detective Sean Hiatt. The vehicle drove away, but was stopped near East 19th Street and South Summit Avenue.

Officers found a bag of marijuana on Lynch, $1,200 cash in Willard’s wallet and a cup containing marijuana stems and seeds in the vehicle, according to court documents.

“Officer (Travis) St. Cyr asked Lynch whether anything was thrown from the vehicle, and she stated she threw out a marijuana cigarette that she had been smoking, and that the cigarette was rolled in grape flavored cigar paper,” Hiatt wrote in his statement. “Two children, ages eight and two, were inside the vehicle.”

During the search of the home, officers found a gallon-sized plastic bag containing marijuana, a glass bowl containing marijuana, a marijuana pipe and digital scale.

All of the marijuana found weighed more than one ounce.

Willard told police in an interview that “he smoked marijuana with Lynch, but that it belonged to her,” Hiatt reported.
