Center hopes spuds will roll up funds to aid seniors

Posted: Friday, March 15, 2013 11:34 pm

The Sedalia Senior Center has two challenges: raising funds to make up for cutbacks at the state and federal levels, and educating the community so residents realize the center is about more than just its meal programs.

Courtney Anstine is Pettis County services director for Care Connection for Aging Services, which oversees the Sedalia’s senior center and 22 others in 13 Missouri counties. She said the center needs to raise about $63,000 by June 30, the end of the fiscal year.
