For the past few months, Sedalia Municipal Court Judge Deborah Mitchell has been in Afghanistan working as a justice advisor through the Justice Sector Support Program.

Funded by the U.S. Department of State and the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, JSSP participates in a variety of projects designed to promote access to a fair and effective justice system for the citizens of Afghanistan, while also helping them understand their legal rights.
