The Open Door Service Center will host a banquet to thank all volunteers and donors at 6:15 p.m. Monday at the Family Life Center of Parkview Christian Church, 1405 E. 16th St. People should enter from the 16th Street side.

The theme is the 1950s and activities will include a limbo, jitterbug, hula hoop contest and best costume contest. Dr. Bill and his Enchanted Guitars will perform.

Anyone who has volunteered their time at the food pantry or thrift shop or who has donated to either one is welcome to attend. There is no charge, but advance registration is required by calling 827-1613 . Sign-ups are also available at the Open Door, 111 W. Sixth St., and at the Open Door Thrift Shop.

Open Door Service Center Inc. assists and collaborates in charitable welfare activities for the benefit of Pettis County residents. Open Door offers a variety of services includes helping with utility bills, medical care, medical transportation, gasoline, overnight accommodations, support of soup kitchens and referrals to appropriate and professional organizations who offer services to support individuals needing help.
