Florence to offer blast from the past for New Year's Eve

Posted: Sunday, December 30, 2012 10:37 pm | Updated: 11:47 pm, Sun Dec 30, 2012.

A lot of New Year’s Eve parties are about looking to the future, but at least one area event on Monday night will be a celebration of the past. The historic Ambush Restaurant, 4591 Butterfield Trail in Florence, will be rocking again for one night only as Floyd Hill’s Down Home Country Band plays a dance concert from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

“The town’s kind of dying out, but we’re going to bring back the old dance hall for one night,” said Don Ahnen, the band’s drummer, who lives in rural Florence.
