Pettis County Health Center is offering the Asthma Initiative Program. This program is designed to educate parents and caregivers about the management of asthma in young children.
In order to qualify, children should be younger than the age of 5. Children over 5 may qualify only if they attend a child care center.
The education includes assisting parents to assess home environments for triggers, teaching how to operate equipment needed for medication administration, educating about medications and providing other guidance as needed.
Parents and caregivers may be referred to the program through their primary care provider, WIC or by calling the center at 827-1130.
