Sedalia city employees Bill Garrigus, left, and Dustin Connell use a crane to empty trash into a city truck on Wednesday as part of clean up efforts at an abated property in the 1900 block of West 10th Street. City crews, headed up by Ester Schultz, a city code enforcement officer, made stops at four properties on Wednesday, collecting everything from bagged and loose trash to car tires children’s toys and building materials.“You name it and we probably picked it up today,” Schultz said.
Ron Stark, solid waste superintendent, right, and city worker Ken Wood gather items from a tree line while cleaning up the property.
A pile of toilets, tires and other trash highlights the kinds of items city crews find at properties found to be in violation of city codes. Schultz said crews “filled two pickup trucks with used tires” between four properties on Wednesday.
