Officers pursue driver going wrong way on US Highway 65
The Sedalia Police Department and Pettis County Sheriff’s Office responded to a driver traveling in the wrong lanes of U.S. Highway 65 on Thursday morning.
At 2:38 a.m., Sedalia Police officers responded to the area of South Limit Avenue and West 32nd Street to assist sheriff’s deputies with a pursuit, according to a Sedalia Police Department report.
A deputy was pursuing a vehicle that was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 65 and entering city limits.
A police officer set out stop sticks near South Limit Avenue and West 32nd Street. The vehicle hit the stop sticks and continued traveling until the tires were deflated. The vehicle stopped near the southbound curb at South Limit Avenue and Heck Avenue.
The elderly driver was later transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for the possibility of a medical episode.
No property was damaged and no one was injured during the pursuit.
