The Sedalia City Council heard a presentation on its 2008 audit at its work session prior to the council meeting at City Hall on Monday.
The audit, which covers the fiscal year from April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2008, was performed by accounting firm Gerding, Korte and Chitwood, of Boonville.
Fred Korte, of the firm, complimented the city’s staff and financial department.
The audit found no problems.
The council voted unanimously during the meeting to accept the audit.
In other business, the City Council:
•Approved a contract with low bidder Lafarge North America, of Sedalia, for various types of rock on a per-ton basis, over a bid from Fischer Companies, of Sedalia. The rock will be used for city projects including parking lot, street and alley repairs.
•Approved a resolution to hold municipal elections on April 7, 2009. Candidates may file a declaration of candidacy from Dec. 16 to Jan. 20, 2009.
•Approved an agreement between the city and Whiteman Area Leadership Council. The city will pay the council $2,000 for the council’s efforts to expand the mission of Whiteman Air Force Base, which would benefit Sedalia and Pettis County economically.
•Granted a liquor license to Viola Mae Staten for Club 208, 208 E. Main St.
