Nixon applauds state's efforts in recovering from recession

Posted: Thursday, August 19, 2010 12:00 am | Updated: 10:37 am, Wed Sep 5, 2012.

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon said sincere bipartisan efforts in Jefferson City have helped the state blunt the impact of the recession and have positioned the state to help take the lead in the economic recovery.

“Overall (we are trying) to have a tone of making sure that we try and get people working together. I think if you put it in contrast both fiscally and in terms of the tone in Jefferson City now, compared to what it was before and certainly compared to what happens in the nation’s capital, people are generally and genuinely trying to work together for the betterment of the state,” Nixon said.
