Bates City man injured in Lafayette County accident

A Bates City man was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City by helicopter Friday following an accident Lafayette County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Web site.
There was no information available from the hospital on the condition of Thomas A. Pelayo, 18.
Pelayo was southbound on Route T near North Outer Road at about 11 p.m. The report states he did not yield to a county deputy, then ran off the road, hit an embankment, and was ejected from the car.
The report states Pelayo was issued summons for driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving, and not wearing his seat belt.
