Sedalia officers say they have found two teenagers responsible for pranks at the Taco Bell drive-through.
The teenage boys, ages 15 and 17, admitted to police they modified a radio to interfere with the Taco Bell drive-through and said vulgar phrases to customers, said Sgt. Matt Wirt, a detective.
The 15-year-old boy was turned over to juvenile authorities. Wirt said he plans to request city charges of interference with a radio, and peace disturbance against the 17-year-old boy. The older teen was not arrested.
The teens said they used a scanner to find the drive-through frequency, then tuned into the frequency using a modified radio. They sat in a nearby parking lot to pull off the prank three or four times.
Wirt said he was able to find the teens after receiving a couple of tips called into the Police Department, and a vehicle description provided by Taco Bell employees.
The teens apologized for their behavior.
“(They did it) just as a prank,” Wirt said. “They thought it was funny.”
