Boy, 10, seriously injured while riding bicycle
A 10-year-old Malta Bend boy was seriously injured while riding his bicycle at 7:02 p.m. Saturday in Saline County.
Jerry D. Surber was riding his Mongoose bicycle and exited a driveway at 106 N. Linn in Malta Bend, directly into the path of a vehicle driven by Earl W. Roe, 32, of Malta Bend, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
Jerry was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall; Roe’s injuries were reported as minor. Roe was wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
