Sedalia man killed in motorcycle crash

A Sedalia man was killed when a tow truck pulled into the path of his motorcycle Tuesday on West Main Street.


Bryan L. Bowles, 49, died at 7:36 p.m. as a result of his injuries, according to Sedalia Police Department reports. He was taken by ambulance to Bothwell Regional Health Center.


The accident happened at 6:36 p.m. in the 1400 block of West Main Street. A flatbed tow truck driven by Jacob A. Shackelford, 24, of Warrensburg, was westbound in the outside lane and Bowles motorcycle was westbound in the inside lane.


Officers said the tow truck was making a left turn into a business driveway and pulled into the path of Bowles’ motorcycle.


The investigation of the collision continues, and officers are looking for anyone who witnessed the crash. Witnesses can call the Police Department’s traffic unit at 826-8100 ext. 125.
