California, Mo., man injured in Moniteau County accident

A California, Mo., man was injured in a highway accident at 5:25 p.m. Friday in Moniteau County.

Alexander J. Hibbeler, 18, of Centertown, was attempting to make a left turn on state Route 87 from Noas Road and pulled into the path of a vehicle being driven by Bruce E. Barker, 39, of California, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Barker then struck Hibbeler’s vehicle on the passenger side.

Barker was taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s Health Center in Jefferson City with serious injuries.

Both men were wearing seat belts, according to the report.
