Law Day cases for Feb. 1
Judge Robert L. Koffman heard the following cases on Feb. 1:
• Amy Karigan, 42, of Sedalia, was sentenced to 10 years in prison on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, stealing and failure to return leased property. The offenses occurred on three different dates last year.
• Bobbie Wright, 47, of Sedalia, was sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty last year to manufacture of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver. The Sedalia Police Department’s S.T.I.N.G. Unit arrested the defendant Dec. 1, 2010, when a search warrant was served at his home on Ninth Street. Officers found Wright and others packaging marijuana into small baggies. The plea agreement originally called for nine-year sentences, but the defendant was arrested Nov. 30 and charged with another felony drug offense. This charge is still pending.
