John 10: 14-16 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me — just as the Father knows me and I know the Father — and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.”
Someone hacked into my email account! I have seen this happen many times, but it has never happened to me before. Those hackers used my email address book to contact my friends, church friends, co-workers, and family members — and then tried to get them to sign up for some home business. Of course, those who know me well didn’t even open the email because they recognized it wasn’t something I would send to them. They knew I had never before sent them an email that misled them, or that tried to take advantage of them. At that point, they knew it was from someone other than me, so they deleted it without giving it another thought. It’s nice to have friends who know you that well. Who know what to expect from you. Who know your nature and character.
Our relationship with God can be just as intimate. With the Holy Spirit as our guide, we can get accustomed to the way God speaks to us, with the way God leads, with the way God communicates, and we can determine when someone other than God is trying to take over. As you move through this week, I hope you hear from God, I pray that you hear the Lord’s still soft voice, and that you can distinguish between our Lord, and the many voices of the world. When you hear the voice of the world, you know what to do — hit the delete button! Don’t give it another thought. Those who know Jesus, also know God — and their voice is unmistakable.
