Two Versailles men and a teen were charged this week with a rash of burglaries at Morgan County businesses.

Devin R. Martin, Kaleb D. Fairchild and Marvin R. Brubacker were each charged Monday with at least five burglaries reported by businesses around North Highway 5 in Morgan County since Jan. 6.

Morgan County Sheriff Jim Petty said the men were arrested late last week after an investigation by detectives Todd Wright and Jason Yeager.

Martin, 27, was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, along with misdemeanor charges of stealing and property damage. Martin could face as much as 15 and a half years in prison if he is found guilty on all counts.

Fairchild, 17, was charged with theft and three counts of burglary. All charges are class C felonies, which could each come with up to seven years in prison if Fairchild is convicted.

Brubacker, 20, faces five burglary charges and one count of theft. If convicted, Brubacker could face up to seven years in prison for each charge.

The Morgan County Sheriff's Department recovered a significant amount of stolen property when they arrested the three men, reports stated.

All three confessed to varying degrees of involvement in the series of burglaries, along with four other burglaries in Moniteau County, Petty said.

“I’m glad we got them,” Petty said. “We have had several burglaries, but hopefully that will stop now.”

Each of the three are being held in Morgan County Adult Detention Center in lieu of $50,000 cash only bond.
