July 28 Police Reports

This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

July 25

3:16 p.m.: Marquise Damond Martin, 26, of the 300 block of Buckner Court, was arrested near the intersection of North Grand Avenue and Martin Luther King Drive on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

July 26

12:12 a.m.: Clayton T. Mock, 37, of Camdenton, was arrested in the 1700 block of West Broadway Boulevard on a charge of driving while intoxicated. A business clerk said an unknown white male got in the driver’s seat of another customer’s vehicle. Upon officer arrival, the suspect was found “passed out” in the other person’s vehicle. The clerk said the suspect’s vehicle was on the opposite side of the building still running. Further investigation revealed the suspect drove his vehicle to the business, exited the vehicle and then got into another vehicle.

1:54 a.m.: Melissa K. Grose, 44, of the 4900 block of Vernon Road, was arrested in the 1100 block of South Harding Avenue on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. An officer responded to a verbal disturbance between two people. Both subjects were found to have warrants and were taken to the Pettis County Jail. Before being transported, the female subject admitted to having pills hidden on her person.

3:05 p.m.: Merle Allen Piers, 24, of Kansas City, was arrested in the 600 block of South Missouri Avenue on a charge of second degree domestic assault and third degree domestic assault. It was discovered that the suspect attempted to hit his wife with a car. It was also discovered he had also assaulted his mother-in-law.


July 26

6:12 a.m.: A camera, camera bag, camera accessories and a smaller camera were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1800 block of Beacon Street. Before receiving the report, officers had made contact with three juvenile males in the area of Vermont and Magnolia. A search resulted in the recovery of the camera, camera bag and camera accessories. The juveniles said they could not remember where they got the items.

12:12 p.m.: A motor, valued at $250, was reported stolen from an air-conditioning unit behind a business in the 2500 block of West Main Street.

2:09 p.m.: A victim reported a suspect took a cinder block and busted several windows at a residence in the 1200 block of South Washington Avenue. The suspect left prior to officer arrival.

5:09 p.m.: A 1999 Chevrolet vehicle was reported stolen from the backyard of a residence in the 300 block of West Fifth Street. There is a suspect.
